Description: The complete set of this rare and beautifully illustrated encyclopædia. Volumes 1-4 have pink and brown, two-tone monochrome jackets; 5-8 are in two shades of blue; 9-12 have green and yellow jackets.

A mix of evocative b&w woodcuts, two-tone monochrome line drawings, and full colour illustrations adorn every page.

Entries are presented in alphabetical order. Volume 1 contains entries from Abacus to Ballet; Volume 2: Balloons to Camera; Volume 3: Canada to Crusades; Volume 4: Crusoe—Farming; Volume 5: Faust—Harvey; Volume 6: Hastings—Lagoon; Volume 7: Lakes—Minstrel; Volume 8: Mint—Patrick; Volume 9: Paul—Religions; Volume 10: Rembrandt—Snails; Volume 11: Snakes—Tools; Volume 12: Toronto—Zuyder Zee.

The condition of the jackets vary between volumes. Some are in excellent condition (Volume 5), whilst others have losses (Volume 10 has a V-shaped loss at the rear). Overall condition, however, is very good. All jackets have been price-clipped. The books themselves are in excellent condition: the pages are crisp, bright, and completely free from foxing, scribbling or any other markings.
