Description:
The famous legend about the Swiss archer is retold here using simple language in this lovely edition.
Beautiful, double-spread colour illustrations capture the spirit of Switzerland in the 1600s. Pastedowns and endpapers are decorated with an exquisite chinoiserie peacock accompanied by butterflies. Matt pictorial boards have some light scratches to the front, but are in very good overall condition. Corners are straight; spine is bumped and rubbed at ends. Internally, the book is in superb condition: pages are crisp, bright, and free from all defect. Super-tight binding. Although the price of 50p does not correspond with that usually found on Ladybirds from 1979, the two other books listed after this one on the rear board were both published in that year. It is therefore assumed that this edition does, indeed, date from 1979 but is not the first printing. Measures 17.5 cm × 11.5 cm (7″ × 4.6″). 12mo. 51 pp. Price: £6.95 |
