Description:
"This is the story of one of the greatest sailors, navigators, and explorers ever to
sail from the shores of England. It is at least in part due to him, as this story
tells, that Canada, Australia and New Zealand are to-day members of the British
Commonwealth of Nations."
In true Ladybird fashion, there are beautiful full-page paintings on each facing page. Pastedowns and endpapers are illustrated with three-tone monochrome maps detailing James Cook's voyages. Matt pictorial boards. Spine ends negligibly bumped; corners appear to be straight. Very minor wear to rear cover. Internally, the book is effectively as new: pages are crisp, bright, unmarked, and very tightly bound. Whilst the year of publication is given as 1958, this copy dates from c.1968. Measures 17.5 cm × 11.5 cm (7″ × 4.5″). 12mo. 51 pp. Price: £15.00 |
