Description: A truly magical tome (it weighs just short of a kilo!) which no fairy-lover or fan of Cicely Mary Barker should find themselves without!
Presented in the form of a scrapbook – with lots of flaps to be lifted, and envelopes to be opened – this is the re-imagining of CMB's journal from 1920 in which the discovery of tiny human footprints on a Sussex garden path in April that year resulted in her lifelong fascination with the Little Folk.
Richly illustrated with Barker's paintings and sketches, alongside reproductions of contemporary ephemera.
Textured pictorial covers, with glitter, a holographic sepia image, and a plastic crystal in an oval setting. Pages are printed on thick, glossy card. The book is in superb condition inside and out – all flaps are in full working order. Unfortunately, the previous owner chose to hold onto the Fairy Glasses which were enclosed in the envelope on the rear pastedown, but these aren't necessary to enjoy the book.
Measures 29.5 cm × 25 cm (11.8″ × 10″). Oversize 4to. Unpaginated.
