Description: The classic tale of two shopkeepers, Ginger the cat and Pickles the dog who extend unlimited credit to their customers, in reply to the mean Tabitha Twitchit, but are eventually forced to close down when their clients exploit the duo's generosity!

Illustrated throughout with Potter's b&w line drawings and magical full-colour plates.

White boards with tipped-in illustration on front. Lower corner on rear board bumped; others relatively straight. Tail of spine lightly bumped; head straight. Minor ink smudge and grubby mark on rear board. Slight horizontal crease on front pastedown. First two or three pages lightly creased from handling, all others are in excellent condition: crisp, clean, and completely unmarked. Plates are as new. Pages printed on high-quality cartridge paper. Beautiful Hill Top House 'ex-libris' affixed to verso.

No year of publication given, but the presence of an SBN suggests it may date from the late-'60s.
