Beautiful, evocative b&w and colour illustrations throughout – many of which are full-page. Also contains a frontispiece.
Sky blue cloth boards with embossed four-colour illustration and gilded text on spine. Highly unusual clear plastic 'dust jacket' with gilt text has a triangular closed tear near the lower right corner and a smaller closed tear where the front board meets the head of the spine – both are repairable. Discreet gift inscription in blue ballpoint on pre-title page, otherwise the book is in flawless condition.
