Description:
"King Charles II served England well. He founded the Royal Society, rebuilt the Navy,
and by his courage and devotion helped and encouraged the people of London during the
disasters of the Great Fire and the Plague.
Because of his friendliness with people of all kinds, he is remembered as “The Merry
Monarch”."
Exquisite full-page colour paintings bring this exciting period of history to life. Matt pictorial boards. Apart from negligible bumping to the spine ends (seems unavoidable in Ladybirds of this vintage!), the covers are in excellent condition. Internally, the book is in the same condition as it left the Loughborough publishing house almost 50 years ago! Only the year of copyright (1960) has been given, but all the evidence points to this being a genuine first new edition from 1976 – the year in which Ladybird introduced the 'blue border' format. Measures 17.5 cm × 11.5 cm (7″ × 4.5″). 12mo. 51 pp. Price: £15.00 |
