Description:
"This book contains a vast store of information, making it an invaluable tool for
advanced bird watchers and beginners alike. Well over 600 concise entries and hundreds
of superb colour illustrations illuminate every aspect of avian world: bird behaviour
and migration patterns; nesting and feeding habits; ecological hazards and physiological
details; crisp biographical notes on outstanding ornithologists and detailed descriptions
of each family of birds throughout the world. These elements and many more make this
handbook uniquely and gratifyingly different."
Exquisitely illustrated with full-colour drawings and lovely b&w sketches. Laminated pictorial covers are creased with scuffing along extremities. Minor stain in upper-right corner (refer to image). The book has been used as rest at some point, as the contents of a letter have become impressed onto the front cover! Spine bumped. The stain in the upper corner has transferred onto the first 21 pages – becoming smaller each time. Slight water damage on inside covers. A few negligible specks of foxing on the preliminary pages plus the final one. Minor soiling on latter. A handful of pages are lightly creased from handling, but are otherwise in excellent, unmarked condition, and completely free from tanning. Pages are very tightly bound. Scarce first edition. Measures 18 cm × 11 cm (7.2″ × 4.4″). 12mo. 240 pp. Price: £7.25 |
