In true Ladybird style, each facing page is illustrated with an excellent, full-page colour oil painting.

Matt pictorial boards. Spine and corners are lightly bumped and rubbed. Very minor wear to front board in the form of some scratches near the rightmost edge. D.I.Y. prize-plate affixed to flyleaf. Apart from a negligible blot of foxing on the flyleaf, all pages are in immaculate condition: crisp, bright, unmarked, and completely free from foxing or tanning. Ultra-tight binding.

Although the prize-plate was issued in July 1969, everything points to this reprint dating from 1967.
